With both my other two kids I would dilate to about a 2-3 but be 75%effaced and would stay that way for another 2 weeks or so but in the hospital when they would check and say I was 100% thinned I would dilate fully in a matter of like an hour.I was 2cm dilated at 36 weeks. At 38 weeks still 2cm dilated but also 80%effaced. I gave birth at 38+4 (today) after my water broke last night. How exciting! Congratulations! I hope your L&D went smoothly.
